The story of the snake

Posted by naylabak on July 8, 2009

Once upon a time in India lived a snake. Every day, kids would come and throw stones at him. They would then poke the snake with their sticks.

One day Brahama was passing by. So the snake called Brahma.

“Yes?” Brahma said.

“Well, I have a bad life. Everyday children come and abuse me. I don’t want to live like this any more.”

“You are a snake. You have what it takes to protect yourself.” Said Brahma.

Years passed. One day Brahma was passing the same rout and ran into the snake again.

“How have you been?” Asked Brahma.

“Well, since we last talked, I decided to use my sting to my benefit. I started stinging kids day after day. The thing is no kid comes to my area any more. True kids would abuse me, but at the same time they would entertain me with their games. I used to feel less lonely those days. I don’t like this life either.”

Brahma listened, then smiled.

” I told you to use your natural abilities. You could have hissed and fizzed so that everyone would be aware of you anger but you didn’t necessarily have to sting!”

Be careful what you buy into

Once upon a time in a suburban area in London lived two neighbors. Mr. Jones and Mr. Harris.

Mr. Jones had married into a wealthy family. His wife had inherited too many expensive furniture among which was a beautiful set of silver spoon ware.

One day Mr. Harris went to Mr. Jones house and said that he had invited some important guests that night and asked if he could borrow his silver set of spoon ware. Mr. Jones although not excited about this request allowed the man to have the set.

The next morning Mr. Jones went to Mr. Harris’s house to get his set back. He then discovered there was a silver tea spoon among them which did not belong to him. So, He mentioned that to Mr. Harris . “Oh, I don’t know Mr. Jones. Maybe your spoon ware gave birth to a new member last night.” Said Mr. Harris passionately.

“What an idiot!” thought Mr. Jones to himself . “ Oh, that is delightful Mr. Harris. Thank you. I shall take them all back now.” He said and quickly grabbed everything.

Some time passed and Mr. Harris knocked on Mr. Jones door again saying that his important guests were about to revisit and asked if he could borrow his set again. “sure.” Said Mr. Jones. The next morning when he went to take them back though, he found two more silver tea spoons in the collection. He picked them up and started starring at them when Mr. Harris jumped in and said that the spoon ware had given birth to two new members again and congratulated him.

Mr. Jones thanked the man silently for his stupidity and aloud for delivering the news. He then grabbed everything and brought them to his house put them back where they belonged.

Some time passed. One winter morning Mr. Jones went to Mr. Harris’s house to take back the silver spoon ware collection that he had borrowed him the night before. Mr. Harris opened the door with a sad grim on his face. “I am afraid; I have sad news Mr. Jones. The whole set died last night!”

They say feminine energy nurtures and heals

Posted by naylabak on July 3, 2009

More than 400 years ago in Kerman ( a city in Iran) someone found a mysterious treasure. Because he didn’t know how to put this treasure into use, he brought it to the king. The king rewarded him and ordered his men to find someone who could show them what to do with that treasure.

The king’s men started their search for the most knowledgeable person in the area. Through the word of mouth, they were directed to a house whose owner was known to be the oldest and wisest person in that area.

The king’s men went to his house and asked him about the treasure. He looked at it, pondered for a while, and replied: ” I don’t know what to do with it, maybe my father would know.”

The king’s men , shocked by the man’s remarks,  went to find the father who lived in a far village.

When they finally found the man, they showed him the treasure. The man looked at it for a while. After moments spent in silence, he replied: ” I don’t know anything about it, but my father might know.”

The king’s men confused and bamboozled, brought all three men to the king. The king looked at the three  in amazement for a while. He then turned to the oldest and said: ” Forget about the treasure. What is your secret?”

The old man replied: ” Well, my grandson has a wife who is more bitter than poison. Whatever my grandson does for her is never enough. She humiliates him and her demands from him are never ending. As a result, my grandson grew very old at a very young age.”

He then continued: ” My son however, has a wife who could be kind at times and difficult at others. Therefore, my son grew somewhat old.”

I, on the other hand, have a wife whose eyes are warmer than the sun and whose touch is colder than the snow. No matter how hard the situations become, her smile is the last thing which says goodbye to me in the mornings. As a result, I remained young even at this age.”

Introduction

Posted by naylabak on July 3, 2009

 Dear World,

Hi.  My name is” Naylabak”. You can also call me “Nay”. I don’t mind!

I was named after an ancient middle eastern instrument which is like a simple long end_blown flute.

I am here today because I believe in the power of stories. To me, nothing boosts the  imagination like a good story. A good story, is like a loyal and wise friend with very little demands. Believe it or not sometimes stories are the only companion  children have in some shamefully brutal situations.

It is my intention to gather a collection of some of the most beautiful and impressive stories that I know of.

Read them, enjoy them, think about them, and if you feel like it drop me a few words so that I know what your thoughts were about them.

Warmly,

Naylabak
